Straight, Wavy, Curly, Messy. For Carrie Underwood’s specific hairstyle that she wore to the 2009 American Music Awards I would use a round brush and blow dryer. This allows me to easily add volume at the roots and allows me to wrap and add the curl and flip at the ends. You can choose yourself to pull the middle front strands and fasten them away from the face before styling your hair, or after you have added the desired texture. You will then loosely fasten the strands, you can use a hair clip, barrette or various other accessories. I personally use a decorative clip, or a plain/clip that matches my hair color (dark brunette). This hairstyle is easily achievable (and tested myself!) within 20-30 minutes (long thick hair) or 10-20 minutes with shoulder length and shorter hair.
